Bellville Government

Bellville is dissected by SR13, SR97 and I-71 in the beautiful rolling hills of southern Richland County. Bellville is about halfway between Cleveland and Columbus. The Clear Fork Creek meanders through our village as does the B&O Bike Trail.

Our 1878 Bandstand, the special architectural features of our downtown buildings, the streetscape on Main Street, unique shopping, dining, lodging, opportunities downtown and just off I-71 makes for a wonderful visit and a great place to live. Combining the above features with the Clear Fork Creek and the B&O Bike Trail Bellville has a “Norman Rockwell” feel to it. Please explore our website; we are sure the more you know about Bellville, the sooner you will come visit our lovely Village.

Bellville's quality of life for its residents and visitors alike is greatly enhanced by the many recreation possibilities in this immediate area. Bellville is also the gateway to the Mohican Recreational Area and to Ohio's largest Amish Community.

Our greatest asset is our citizens. Volunteerism is still alive here. Hospitality is alive and well in the Village of Bellville. Please come visit our great community.

The 2015 Bellville Farmers Market will be held each Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, May 16, 2014 until October 10, 2015. This event takes place on the square in downtown Bellville every Saturday - rain or shine. Fresh produce and cottage products are available for purchase from many different vendors.

Vendors may not set up before 7:30 a.m. on the day of the market and must be ready to sell by 8:45 a.m. The market provides space for growers to sell their own “home grown” produce and plants, as well as cottage food production items made or packaged by the producers.

For the 2014 season, we will welcome producers with agriculturally motivated products that are approved by the Bellville Farmers Market Advisory Committee. Producers must arrive by 8:15 to retain their reserved location.

This Farmers Market is intended to support local growers and producers in Bellville and limited surrounding areas. It is not intended to be a re-sale market for produce, plants, or other items purchased elsewhere. All cottage food products must be made or packaged by the signed producer. All produce (fruit and vegetables) and plants must be grown by the producer. Producers need to submit all addresses where they will be growing their produce/plants. Producers may use another person's land only if produce/plants are being grown and cared for by the named producer. The Farmers Market Advisory Committee, with the assistance of fellow producers, will visit participating gardens/farms to validate accuracy of submitted information.
